Standish is a small town in Maine with a population of approximately 10,000 people. The town is known for its beautiful lakes, including Sebago Lake, which is the second largest lake in the state and a popular tourist destination. Standish is also home to the historic North Gorham Covered Bridge, which was built in 1905 and is one of the few remaining covered bridges in Maine. Additionally, the town is home to Saint Joseph's College of Maine, a Catholic liberal arts college, which is the town's largest employer.
The USDA Rural Development staff are dedicated to assisting rural Maine communities through housing, business, and community programs. Their mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for all rural Americans.
