Berwick is a town in York County, Maine, United States, situated on the banks of the Salmon Falls River. The town is home to many historic homes and buildings, including the John D. "Black Sam" Emery House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Berwick is also known for its Berwick Academy, a prestigious private school that has been in operation since 1791. The town is located a short drive from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation, including hiking and kayaking.
