2. The town was officially incorporated in 1778 and is named after Thomas Gray, a Massachusetts loyalist who purchased land and settled in the area.
3. Gray is home to the Maine Wildlife Park, which houses more than 30 species of native Maine animals like bald eagles, black bears, and moose.
4. The town also hosts an annual fair, the Cumberland County Fair, which is one of the largest agricultural fairs in the state of Maine and features carnival rides, livestock shows, and other attractions.
5. Gray is located about 20 miles north of Portland, Maine's largest city, and is known for its rural character and scenic landscapes.
