John is a Michigan native, born in Lansing and raised in Marquette after his family relocated in 1983. He attended Marquette Area Public Schools were he graduated from Marquette Senior High in 1999 and went on to attend and graduate from Northern Michigan University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree. John has a background in law enforcement and security which gives him the edge on integrity, ethics and service.
After pursuing his desire to sell real estate and completing the required education, John traded in his badge for a real estate license. He took employment with the Elder Agency in Marquette as a real estate salesperson in May 2007. He went on to obtain his Insurance License in February 2008 which allowed him to provide commercial and residential insurance services to his clients, in conjunction with provided real estate services. This dual hat broadened his client base and deepened his understanding of the insurance influence on the process of buying and selling a home or a business. In 2011 John advanced his career and knowledge by completing additional education to obtain his Michigan Associate Brokers License. This advancement has allowed John to expand his services into property management.
John later branched out from the Elder Agency in 2014, and founded PROEX Realty, where he focuses on building a sustainable real estate brand, managing & developing a streamlined property management company, and leading a technology driven real estate team. In 2018 John joined Exp Realty adding technologies and resources to enhance the client experience.
John is a former member of the Marquette Township Fire Department as a Lieutenant Firefighter/EMT. He has recently shifted his focus onto his family and growing business, but John also has a history of contributing to several other organizations which include, Business Networking International (BNI)-former President, the Presque Isle Advisory Committee for the City of Marquette-Chairman, and the Board of Directors for Big Brothers, Big Sisters-Director & Volunteer. John is currently a member and treasurer of the Marquette County Flying Club. John is also a member or the EAA chapter 850 and a young eagles volunteer pilot.
When I am not pursuing real estate ventures, I spend as much time enjoying the great outdoors as possible. I spend a lot of time with my family on our boat exploring Lake Superior on the beautiful shores of the UP. I am also a private pilot and have a passion for aviation which allows me to have better access to my referral network, clients and properties. I am an avid hunter of just about anything and fisher of anything in open water to frozen water.
In business and as a Realtor, I like to ride on the tip of the technology wave, constantly researching and utilizing new technologies to provide the best experience for My clients. I pride myself on serving those clients in ways that best meet their needs, never pressuring them, but always offering sound, straight forward advice that helps them the most in any situation.
John currently resides in Marquette Michigan with his lovely wife, son, and two beautiful daughters.
