Jim grew up in the farming community of Durand, WI, where he learned the value of a strong work ethic, helping his father with chores as soon as he could carry a bucket of corn to the hogs. In high school, Jim loved to play football which he received accolades for, but his fondest memories stem around the relationships with fellow teammates and the leadership lessons learned from being a team captain.
Jim began his real estate career in 1988 with Century 21 Bertelsen-Cudd, where he worked for 5 years before moving to Edina Realty, due to a management change he wasnt comfortable with, and then he purchased the RE/MAX franchise with Mike Germain in 1997, where they built the company to a 15 agent office. In January of 2006, Jim and Mike merged the Hudson office with RE/MAX Results from the Twin Cities, to take advantage of the many tools and over 500 agents to network with. Jim has since taken this opportunity to re-focus on his clients and customers, devoting more time and attention to their needs.
Jim has always strived to be the best in his field and to offer his clients and customers more, to better accomplish this; Jim sought out specialized training to improve his skills as a real estate professional. To start; Jim earned his Graduate Realtor Institute designation which is essentially the masters degree of the real estate business. Secondly, Jims earned his Certified Residential Specialist designation, the PHD of real estate, which requires extensive training and experience to achieve and has been accomplished by only 4% of the 1.3 million Realtors nationally. Third, Jim earned his Accredited Buyer Representative designation, giving him advanced knowledge to better represent his buyer clients. Jims also earned his Brokers License and has attended too many seminars and workshops to list. Bottom line; Jim has received the best training in the business and knows how to handle any situation that may arise during your transaction.
