Andrew County, located in the great state of Missouri, has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. Established on January 29, 1841, the county was named in honor of Andrew Jackson Davis, a prominent lawyer and forefather to Missouri's judicial system. The county's seat, Savannah, was laid out in 1841 by the county's first permanent settler, Amos Graham.

In its early days, Andrew County was predominantly characterized by its rural and agricultural landscape. Rich fertile soil provided the perfect environment to grow crops, while the region's natural resources also made it an important site for industries such as milling and timber.

The county played a significant role during the Civil War as well, with numerous skirmishes and encampments occurring within its boundaries. In 1861, the Battle of Blue Mills Landing took place in Andrew County, which was a skirmish between Union forces and Missouri State Guard troops.

The arrival of the railroad in the late 19th century has had a profound impact on the region, allowing local businesses, mainly agriculture, to flourish. The transport infrastructure created opportunities for the export of goods and attracted new settlers to Andrew County.

One fun fact about Andrew County is that it's home to the Andrew County Museum, which offers visitors a chance to experience the fascinating history of the region. The museum holds artifacts and exhibits commemorating the local communities and people who helped shape the county into what it is today.
