Mansfield is a small village with a population of around 1,300 residents. It is located in the Ozark Mountains region of Missouri, and is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the Little House on the Prairie books. Mansfield features several attractions related to Wilder, including a museum and the author's home, which is open to the public. The village also has a historic downtown district with a few locally-owned businesses and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking and fishing in the nearby Mark Twain National Forest.
