Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Montana State Quarter

The Montana state quarter was issued in 2007, and was designed by Donna Weaver. The design features a bison skull in the center with a portion of the state flag behind it. The bison skull is meant to symbolize Montana's western heritage, while the flag portion of the design symbolizes the state's pride. The words "Montana" and "Big Sky Country" are also featured on the coin, and the state motto, "Oro y Plata," is inscribed on the rim. The quarter also features a landscape of mountains and trees to represent Montana's beautiful scenery.

The second Montana State Quarter

The Montana National Park quarter is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which began in 2010. This program honors 56 national parks and other sites around the United States. The Montana National Park quarter was released in 2016 and features the iconic image of the mountain goat standing on a rocky outcropping in Glacier National Park, one of the most popular national parks in Montana. The mountain goat is an iconic symbol of the rugged and majestic terrain of the Rocky Mountains and a fitting tribute to the beauty of the park. The coin also features the inscription "Glacier National Park" above the mountain goat and the state of Montana at the bottom. The reverse of the coin features a soaring bald eagle, symbolizing freedom and the beauty of the American landscape. The inscriptions "E Pluribus Unum" and "Montana" are also featured on the reverse.
