Having lived in cities most of my life I wanted to experience a mix of natural beauty and an enriched rural lifestyle. So, I left a successful career in Advertising Design and Management and became a Broker in Banner Elk. Changing careers takes a lot of thought, and I needed to match my lifestyle priorities to my career interests, accomplishments & skill sets. Living in beautiful surroundings with changing seasons, wooded mountains and valleys was a top priority. Having an active lifestyle was second: bicycling, hiking, barbecuing and even walking the dog. I then matched my creative, communications and "people" skills from advertising and television promotion to my lifestyle and aesthetic priorities. "When I drive or walk around and say to myself -I can't believe I live here -it's just beautiful, and then add helping people find the log cabin, golf community or private home in the cool mountain air -well, life is GOOD!"
