A native of Charleston, SC, Philip spent his childhood summers in Cashiers with his parents and grandparents beginning in 1976. Three generations of his family have made memories in Cashiers and Highlands over the last 100 years.
When Philip graduated from Clemson University, he purchased an old cabin on Lake Glenville that he renovated and made his own. After years of spending more and more time in this special place, he decided to make Cashiers his second home.
In 1997, Philip became an insurance agent with Allstate Insurance Company and located his agency in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He has more than 20 years of professional insurance experience and brings that expertise to the McKee Properties team. He is also securities licensed in SC, serving his customers financial needs.
In 2002, Philip earned his SC real estate license and formed his own company, Brown Dog Realty, LLC, a boutique real estate firm based in Charleston. Over the years, he has helped many friends and family find their own perfect vacation home, whether it be on the coast or in the mountains.
Philip has long been involved in many charities involving historic preservation, including serving for 10 years on The Charles Towne Landing Foundation in Charleston. He has been a consistent supporter of The Human Rights Campaign, Pet Helpers and the Ryan White Foundation at Roper St. Francis. In Cashiers, he is a member of The Village Green, Friends of Lake Glenville and The Cashiers Historic Foundation.
Philip and his partner, Drew English, enjoy antiquing for treasures, Clemson football, gardening and traveling. While in the mountains they enjoy hiking with their Boykin Spaniel, boating on Lake Glenville and entertaining family and friends at their home.
