Did you know that Lillington, North Carolina is the county seat of Harnett County and is named after John Alexander Lillington, a local Revolutionary War hero who fought in the Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge in 1776? To commemorate his brave actions in the battle, a monument was erected in his honor in the town square.
