Jamestown is a city in North Dakota that is known as "The Buffalo City," as it is home to the National Buffalo Museum. It has a population of around 15,000 people and is located on Interstate 94, which spans from Billings, Montana to Port Huron, Michigan. The city was founded in 1872 and is named after James McLaughlin, a Native American agent. Jamestown is also home to Jamestown College, a private liberal arts college, as well as the North Dakota State Hospital, one of two state psychiatric hospitals in North Dakota.
