Interested in fun facts and the history of Ravenna, NE?
Then read on!

A fun fact about Ravenna, Nebraska is that it used to be a major center for the production of sugar beets in the early 20th century. At one point, Ravenna was home to the largest sugar beet processing plant in the United States, which was operated by the Nebraska State Sugar Company. The plant was in operation from 1910 until 1937, and at its peak, it processed over 1,200 tons of sugar beets per day. Today, the site of the former sugar beet plant is a city park, and a historical marker commemorates the importance of the sugar beet industry to the local economy.
