Knox County is a county located in the northeastern part of the state of Nebraska, United States. It was founded in 1857 and named after General Henry Knox, a Revolutionary War hero and the first U.S. Secretary of War.

The county's early economy was based on agriculture and livestock farming, and it later became a center of manufacturing and transportation in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

One fun fact about Knox County is that it is home to the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, which is located in the city of Crofton and features exhibits and information about the famous explorers who passed through the area on their journey westward. The center is situated on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It is also home to the Spirit of Nebraska Wilderness sculpture, which is a large bronze statue of a buffalo that serves as a symbol of the region's natural beauty and wildlife.
