Hillsborough County is situated in the southern part of the great state of New Hampshire in the United States. Established in 1769, the county was named after Wills Hill, the first Earl of Hillsborough, who served as the British Secretary of State for the Colonies. Covering an area of approximately 892 square miles, the county is known for its rich history, numerous picturesque towns, and significant contributions to the American Revolution.

One of the most prominent cities in Hillsborough County is Manchester, which is the largest city in New Hampshire. Manchester has a strong industrial background, with the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company significantly contributing to the growth and expansion of the city in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The company played a pivotal role in the textile industry, turning Manchester into a thriving economic center.

Nashua, the second-largest city in the state, is also part of Hillsborough County. Known for its high quality of life and strong economy, it was named the "Best Place to Live in America" twice in the past by Money Magazine.

Hillsborough County also holds historical significance as it was a major center for the abolitionist movement during the 19th century. Harriet E. Wilson, the first published African-American female novelist, was from Milford, a town located in the county.

A fun fact about Hillsborough County is that it is home to one of North America's oldest man-made attractions, the America's Stonehenge. Located in Salem, this archaeological site features a range of stone structures and formations believed to be more than 4,000 years old. The purpose of these mysterious formations remains unclear, with theories suggesting they could have been used for religious or astronomical purposes.
