New Mexico State Motto: Crescit eundo
It grows as it goes

Front of the US quarter dollar coin   New Mexico State Quarter

The New Mexico state quarter was released on June 7, 1998 as part of the 50 State Quarters Program. The quarter was designed by Don Everhart and features a Zia sun symbol representing the Zia Pueblo people, a group native to New Mexico, with rays extending out in four directions. The rays symbolize the four directions of the universe (north, south, east, and west) and the four seasons of the year (summer, winter, spring, and fall). The design also includes the state's nickname, "Land of Enchantment," and the New Mexico state motto, "Crescit Eundo," which means "It grows as it goes."

The second New Mexico State Quarter

The New Mexico National Park quarter is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which is a series of 56 circulating quarter-dollar coins honoring U.S. national parks and other national sites. The first quarter in this series was released in 2010 and the last quarter will be released in 2021.

The New Mexico National Park quarter features a scene of a Pueblo dwelling near the cliffs of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The image is designed to recognize the cultural history of the area and the ancient ruins of the Pueblo people. The design also includes the inscription "Chaco Culture" and the date of the park's establishment, "1907."

The Chaco Culture National Historical Park is located in the northwest corner of New Mexico and is home to an incredible array of ancient Puebloan ruins. The park is a tribute to the ancient Pueblo people who built their great houses, plazas, and ceremonial structures throughout the region. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife including deer, coyotes, and birds of prey.

The New Mexico National Park quarter is a symbol of the state's cultural history and its commitment to preserving the area's archaeological treasures. It is also a reminder of the importance of protecting the natural environment and its inhabitants.
