Wells, Nevada was founded as a railroad town in 1869 with the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad. The village was named after the owner of the Humboldt Wells, G.H. Wells. It is situated in the northeastern part of Nevada, about 50 miles east of the Ruby Mountains.
