Born in the Hudson Valley and raised on a farm, I spent time traveling and living in cities with a decade in San Francisco and Truckee, Calif. Still the rolling fields, acres of apple orchards and the Shawangunk mountains were always pulling me back home to New York. I spent 25 years manufacturing and designing home accessories and fabric and paper goods collections. I also bought and remodeled my first home in Woodstock with my husband at which time the idea of real estate as another career came about. I saw how it could be interesting outside work with the benefit of leading to a deeper understanding of my county and my community. I was so right!
To serve our clients well we have to keep informed about many issues. People visit Ulster County and fall under the spell of the natural beauty. However, they look to us for information on many issues, whether its taxes, local volunteer services, fracking and other environmental issues and how were going to bring back jobs to our county. Its very gratifying to be meeting new people through this buying/selling process. The job and the people are always changing and always interesting. What could be better?
