Cohocton is a small village located in the town of Cohocton in Steuben County, New York. It has a population of approximately 850 people according to the United States Census Bureau.

The village is situated in a scenic region, surrounded by rolling hills and abundant natural beauty. It is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities, particularly in and around Cohocton River which includes fishing, kayaking and other water sports.

The village has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when the area was first settled by European settlers. The village grew as a stop on the railroad and became a center for the dairy and cheese industry in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Today, the village of Cohocton has a number of small businesses and shops, a local library, and several community organizations. The village hosts an annual Fall Foliage Festival which draws visitors from around the region to enjoy the colorful autumnal scenery and local festivities.
