Centereach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is located in the Town of Brookhaven and is situated in the middle of Long Island. The area was originally used by the Secatogue tribe of Algonquian Native Americans as a hunting and fishing ground.
Centereach has a population of approximately 31,578 residents and covers an area of 8.7 square miles. It is known for its parks and recreational facilities, which include the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center, Centereach Pool and Park, and Selden Park.
There are also several shopping centers and restaurants in Centereach, including the Centereach Mall, located on Middle Country Road. The Suffolk County Transit bus system provides public transportation throughout the area.
