Ostrander is a small village in Delaware County, Ohio with a population of approximately 643 as of the census conducted in 2019. The village covers an area of 0.63 square miles. Ostrander is located about 27 miles north of Columbus, the state capital, and is a part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The village is served by the Buckeye Valley Local School District.
Ostrander was originally known as Crawford's Station, after an early settler in the area. It was incorporated as a village in 1881 and was renamed to Ostrander in honor of the Ostrander family, who were prominent in the community at that time.
The village is predominantly residential, with some small businesses and farms in the surrounding area. Ostrander is known for its peaceful and friendly community atmosphere. The village hosts several community events throughout the year, including a Fourth of July parade and fireworks display, a farmer's market, and a village-wide yard sale.
