Holgate is a small village located in northwest Ohio with a population of approximately 1,150 people. The village was originally settled in the 1830s and was named after James Holgate, a prominent businessman in the area. The village is known for its historic downtown area which features a number of well-preserved buildings from the late 19th and early 20th century, including a distinctive water tower. The village is also home to a number of community events throughout the year, including a popular summer festival and an annual Christmas parade.
