One fun fact about Gnadenhutten, Ohio is that it is home to the historical Gnadenhutten Massacre Site, which is the location of the worst Indian massacre in Ohio history. On March 8, 1782, 90 Christian Delaware Indians, mostly women, children, and elderly, were killed by American soldiers in retaliation for attacks on white settlements during the Revolutionary War. The site is now a National Historic Landmark and features a monument erected in memory of the victims.
