From the heart of midtown Tulsa I sell land, country estates, horse properties, cattle ranches, and rural properties where people can get away from their neighbors and enjoy the peace and privacy of country living. I also sell homes in the city and suburbs, because sometimes people who love the country decide to have a house in town because of the convenience and lower maintenance. Of course, affordability is always an issue too. I live in Tulsa, but my heart is in the country. I am aware of how difficult it is to find a REALTOR who can show any property within a two-hour radius of Tulsa. To me, that is a perfectly normal commuting distance, because that''s how I grew up. You see, my father sold oil field machinery all over the world. His business was based in New York City, because in 1940, that''s where the export business was located. He rode 2 hours into the city on a commuter train and rode 2 hours out of the city every day when he wasn''t overseas. For me, then, a long commute was normal. I had a wonderful, idyllic life growing up riding horses and bicycles in dairy country north of New York. Later, I went to school and worked in Albany, NY and Pittsburgh, PA. I know what the city and the suburbs are like. After coming to Tulsa in 1984 I have lived in downtown Tulsa, south Tulsa, Catoosa, Claremore, Broken Arrow, and now Tulsa again. I have even worked in Bartlesville. I used to board a horse in Bixby, and so I am pretty familiar with most of the areas in and around Tulsa. I know my way around pretty well and have made it a game to discover roads I have never been on before. Growing up, we used to trek all over western Connecticut on back roads. Daddy always pretended we were lost and so we would make sure to take "emergency rations." I learned to love driving around exploring the countryside. Perhaps that is why I love selling real estate and helping people find remote places in the country. Some people have a house in town and a house in the country, but it takes more funds to afford to have others feed animals and pets at both properties. For others, a long commute is normal, because they enjoy taking care of animals, repairing fences, and doing the daily commute. What''s great about commuting to Tulsa is that it does not take long to get way way out in the country. An hour out is not eleven miles like it is in other cities. An hour out is way out where you don''t see neighbors or hear traffic noise. I understand the needs of families at different stages of their lives. If you need to have easy access to great private schools and doctors, I can tell you how far out you can live and stay sane. Trust me, I did the trip to Tulsa three times a day from the other side of Claremore. It gets old after a while, but I''d do it again in a heartbeat if I could. I have two Masters degrees. My first Masters is in Library Science. I was trained to do database searching as a college reference librarian. I later created finding aids as a librarian and records manager for Gulf Oil Corporation. These skills help me to build websites and finding aids on the internet for my buyers and sellers. I have made my internet presence a big game, like finding files and documents in a library. I understand how to drive prospects to my listings and my websites. My second Master degree is in ministry. I have an M.Div. I thought at one time I would be a theological librarian and get to use my Greek, and Latin; when I went to Perkins at Southern Methodist University, I found myself taking classes in Hebrew. It was so much fun. I always loved learning new languages. Anyway, I commuted from Claremore to Dallas for six years to get that degree and so I again learned a lot about commuting in Oklahoma. Moreover, my pastoral care classes prepared me to work with people of all ages and especially to understand generational differences. I keep taking classes to learn more and more about what I don''t know. Call it an addiction. I have taken some really cool courses at our wonderful vo-tech institutions. I have taken courses in masonry, carpentry, web design, oil and gas drilling and production, horse management, broodmare and foaling, etc. So here I am peddling real estate and having a ball bringing all my life skills together. I get to help people solve real problems, not just academic questions. Call me at 918-724-8201 and let me help you sell your home or buy a new one.
