Brett grew up in Sonoma County and studied art history and design at the University of London before finding his way to U.C. Santa Cruz, one of the few locations he could find two of his favorite environments collide the forests and the ocean. His growing an extracurricular appreciation for these natural spaces - through hiking and surfing in particular - led to degrees in Environmental Studies and Earth Sciences.
He spent the next 13 years studying and working in graphic design, in large part within the Marketing arm of Whole Foods Market. In 2015, he took that design experience to a more personal stage when he and his spouse bought a Portland fixer upper with a plan for renovating the entire place by them selves. Pushing their comfort zone, they added a second renovation project to the mix turning an old garage into a sleek Airbnb space that now attracts travelers from all over the world. Brett found he loved helping those newcomers navigate his adopted hometown and sharing his favorite places, too. Ultimately, this entire experience from searching for a house that best balanced their needs, budget and vision to completing all the necessary steps to converting those goals into reality hooked Brett into the transition to a career in real estate.
When Brett isnt connecting with new people or cataloguing innovative renovation ideas, hes most likely to be found outdoors either mountain biking at Sandy Ridge, skiing at Mt. Hood, attending soccer games at Providence Park (as a Portland Thorns season ticket holder) or finding new adventures all over the Pacific Northwest with his spouse and their rescue Carolina mix, Rue.
