David Jaques is the Principal Broker and Owner of Alpine Real Estate 1, LLC in Roseburg, Oregon. He is a member of the Oregon Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors and has been active in Oregon Real Estate providing professional services to clients in; Residential, Investment, Development, Commercial, Farm and Ranch properties.
His first year in the business, 1977, Jaques sold over a million dollars in real estate (back when new single family homes averaged $39,000 each) and at only 19 years of age, was in the top 10% of sales for Art Lutz and Company in Portland, Oregon. At that time, Art Lutz and Company was the 2nd largest Real Estate firm in Oregon. David has been a consistent top producer, and has been a multi-Diamond Member of the Douglas County Realtors Million Dollar Club.
David is the past Chairman of the Douglas County Planning Commission having served on the commission for 13 years. His knowledge of Oregon Land Use practices and regulations makes him uniquely qualified to provide professional service to his clientele.
He and wife Marcia have been married for 43 years and raised five outstanding children. They now have fifteen beautiful grandchildren. They moved to their home in Southern Douglas County in 1987.
David has been active in Oregon politics for more than 45 years and has been a paid consultant for some of Oregons top conservative candidates. He said, A campaign highlight was flying on the Reagan campaign jet when I was 22 years old, after spending the day chauffeuring Nancy Reagan to events in Portland, Oregon. I also had the honor of escorting Reagan Transportation Secretary, Don Hodel, during his visit to Oregon, and National Review founder William F. Buckley, Jr.
In the 1990s, David hosted a popular talk radio show, The After Rush Hour and authored the book 101 Uses for a Dead Spotted Owl.
In addition to owning his own Real Estate Brokerage, David is currently co-owner of the fastest growing Weekly newspaper in Oregon, The Roseburg Beacon.
