Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Oregon State Quarter

The Oregon state quarter was created in 2005 and features a design by Oregon native and artist Robert Morris. The design features a design of a river scene with a beaver, a Western meadowlark, and Mt. Hood in the background. The beaver symbolizes Oregon's nickname, the Beaver State, while the meadowlark is the state bird. The mountain symbolizes Oregon's natural beauty, and the river represents Oregon's many rivers and waterways. The words "Oregon 1859" commemorate the year Oregon became a state, and "Oregon Trail" references the Oregon Trail and the settlers who traveled it.

The second Oregon State Quarter

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program is a series of 56 circulating commemorative coins released by the United States Mint from 2010 to 2021. The Oregon National Park Quarter was released in 2010 as part of the series, and it honors Crater Lake National Park. The reverse design of the coin depicts Wizard Island, a cinder cone volcano located in the middle of Crater Lake, with a view of the lake in the background. The inscriptions include "CRATER LAKE", "OREGON", "2010", and "E PLURIBUS UNUM".

Crater Lake National Park is located in southern Oregon and was originally designated as a national site in 1902. The park was established in 1949 and is known for its deep, crystal-clear lake that was formed by the eruption of Mount Mazama over 7,000 years ago. The lake is the deepest in the United States and is one of the most pristine bodies of water in the world. Wizard Island is a small volcanic cinder cone island located in the middle of the lake and is a popular destination for visitors to the park.

The Oregon National Park quarter is a symbol of the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest region and of the significance of Crater Lake National Park. The reverse design of the coin pays tribute to the unique geology of the park and its natural wonders. The coin is a reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting our national parks and public lands for future generations.
