First licensed in 1975, I have had a successful career in real estate sales becoming the top agent in the marketplace in the 1980's and maintaining that position for decades. Over these decades, I gained may national and international awards for my sales achievements. In all of this I am proudest of the dozens of Quality Service Awards I achieved for superior service to my clients and customers.
At the same time, with my partners Ruth Smith and Kevin Smith built the sales organization of Smith Hourigan Group leading the way in the market place with an outstanding reputation for superior ethics and integrity.
Importantly I have been able to give back to our community in many ways sharing my time and talent in several organizations. For 40 years I served as the President of the Mountaintop Hose Company No. 1, a trustee at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston for 15 years, and I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Luzerne Foundation. I have served on various other Boards as I gained a reputation for being a capable fund raiser for projects and needs within the community.
Sharon and I have been married for 40 years and we are the parents of Kevin and Meghan who are awesome young adults. Both inherited my drive and dedication to do the best they can in everything they do. I couldn't be prouder of them or more thankful that my real estate business afforded us the opportunity to provide an exceptional education for them.
In August 2024 Kevin and I merged our company with Classic Properties. Classic brings our agents and customers a variety of tools and technology with enhance everyone's experience. Now, with the merger, we are the largest real estate company in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I am excited about all of our changes and our new relationships. I continue as the Manager of the Mountaintop Office and will continue in sales which I continue to enjoy 49 years later. I have touched a lot of lives and done a lot of good. Nothing has really changed other than the name over the door.
