Emmaus was settled in the early 18th century and was incorporated as a borough in 1859. Today, it is known for its historic downtown, which includes many unique shops and restaurants. Emmaus is also home to several parks and recreational facilities, including the Emmaus Community Pool and the Emmaus Public Library.
