Here are a couple of true facts about the village of Scalp Level, Pennsylvania:

1. The village gets its name from a nearby hill that was used as a hunting ground by Native Americans. The hill was originally called "Scalp Hunting Ground", but later became known as "Scalp Level".

2. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Scalp Level was a thriving mining town. The village was home to several coal mines, and the coal was transported out of the area via the nearby Pennsylvania Railroad. Today, many of the former mine sites have been reclaimed by nature, but some historical markers and buildings are still visible in the area.
