2. The name Coplay comes from a combination of the words "Lehigh COpPer" and "Limestone" which were both extracted from the area for manufacturing purposes.
3. Coplay's ironworks were a significant part of the industrial revolution, providing iron and steel products such as railroad rails and bridge components.
4. At the height of its production, Coplay was responsible for producing approximately 72,000 tons of iron per year.
5. Coplay has a long history of baseball. The village's youth baseball team, the Coplay Athletic Association, has been in existence since 1949.
6. The borough of Coplay is home to Egypt Memorial Park, which is named after the town's former name, Egypt.
7. The town hosts an annual festival called the "Coplay Community Days" which is held in August and features live music, food vendors, and amusement rides.
