Here are a couple of true facts about the village of Elverson, Pennsylvania:
1. Elverson was originally named Springfield, but when the town was incorporated in 1899, it was renamed Elverson after James Elverson, the publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer and a major landowner in the area.
2. The French Creek Trail, a popular hiking trail, begins in Elverson and follows the path of the French Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River, for 12 miles through a scenic valley. The trail offers views of waterfalls, rock formations, and historic landmarks.
