Lansford is a borough in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, with a population of approximately 3,700 residents. The town is located in the Panther Valley, near the Lehigh River and is part of the Lehigh Valley region. It has a rich history in the coal-mining industry, with the No. 9 Coal Mine & Museum showcasing the borough's past in the mining trade. The town has a number of historic landmarks, including the Old #9 Trail and the Lansford High Rise, which is a 200+ foot tall building that dominates the landscape. The area is also popular for outdoor recreation, with nearby state parks, nature reserves, and hiking trails. Lansford hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the annual St. Katharine Drexel Festival, which features food, live music, and carnival games.
