Catawissa is a borough in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, located on the west bank of the Susquehanna River. The name Catawissa is derived from a Native American language and means "growing fat." The village was settled in the 18th century, and the Catawissa Historic District has many well-preserved buildings from that era. Some notable places to visit in Catawissa include the Catawissa Railroad Museum, the Rohrbach's Farm Market, and the Catawissa Veteran's Memorial. Additionally, Catawissa hosts the annual Catawissa Memorial Day Parade and carnival, which has been a tradition since 1872.
