1. York is well known for its role in the American Revolution. The Articles of Confederation, which served as the first constitution of the United States, were drafted and adopted in York in November 1777.
2. York is home to a number of historic sites and museums, including the York County Heritage Trust and the Agricultural and Industrial Museum. The city also hosts several annual events, such as the York Fair, which is one of the oldest fairs in the country, dating back to 1765.
