As an outgoing gregarious boy growing up on the Sea Islands, Richard enjoyed the outdoors where he spent most of his time fishing, hunting, and camping. Typical weekends consisted of boating adventures, discovering uninhabited barrier island with his fishing pole and his dog. He cherishes his Huck Fin childhood and still makes time to become a kid with his kids.
He attributes his charismatic outlook on life, affinity for nature, adventure, and his willingness to help other to his parents. His mother was an artist and his teacher, from whom he had learned an appreciation for art, photography, and nature. She loved people and was a friend to everyone. His father was an avid outdoorsman and environmentalist who taught him how to appreciate, respect and protect the beauty of nature and all she has to offer.
Richard is married to Heidi. Together they have two outstanding buys, Nicholas and Reeve. Richard has spent the last few years helping his wife grow her property management business on Dataw Island and the surrounding Beaufort area.
Richard studied graphic art at Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC prior to receiveng a degree in marketing from the school of business at the University of South Carolina in Aiken. He has a love of photography, art and a passion for life and helping others.
