I grew up on a farm in South Dakota. I spent most of my childhood working on the farm, helping my extended family farm, as well as enjoying the great outdoors with hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. I credit my parents, grandparents, neighbors, and teachers to helping me develop into an adult. At 18, I went to college at the Mount Marty University in Yankton SD where I received 2 Bachelors degrees. I then went directly to graduate school at the University of Kansas to pursue a degree in Education. I have the heart of a teacher and after getting my Master degree was privileged to work in higher education and to have a job teaching and being an administrator.
I believe in giving back to our community so I volunteer with my kids in numerous venues and through various local organizations. When Im not at work, Im typically enjoying the outdoors with my kids, helping at the family farm, or just learning something new through a podcast, book, or TED talks.
