Becoming a Realtor means that you subscribe to national, state and local associations and follow a strict set of principles. Secondly, not every Realtor is a Broker. Becoming a Broker requires more than 3 years experience, achieving over 120 hours of continuing education and successfully completing a brokers exam. As a Broker, you are eligible to open your own brokerage and manage affiliate brokers.I am both a Realtor and a Broker. Ive held a real estate license in both Tennessee and Georgia since 2001. I obtained my Brokers license in 2004 when I managed and co-owned a real estate firm. My previous experience also includes managing a New Home Sales Division providing specialized services to builders, developers and buyers seeking new and custom homes.
