Lucy comes from a multi-generational family of Realtors/Appraisers and brings a lifetime of experience in Real Estate valuation & transfer process assistance to her clients. She has helped Sellers find Buyers for everything from raw land & older farmhouses to a "Greenbuilt" cordwood/ecobloc/straw bale home with a living roof & solar power.
In addition to her wealth of experience in real estate, Lucy has worked in large animal veterinary medicine, possesses a Biology degree from Virginia Tech with a minor in Chemistry, and has a lengthy background in wellness through her previous profession as a massage therapist & yoga teacher. Her husband is a local business owner here in Floyd in the field of home construction which gives Lucy an inside perspective on what any new residents to the area may need to consider when choosing between existing or new construction. She has a well-rounded understanding of local building materials & resources, a knack for spotting potentially troublesome design aspects in existing buildings, and a growing understanding of "Green" building possibilities & energy sources such as Solar, Wind, & Hydro-power.
