After graduating high school, David made a decision to honor his country by serving active duty in the United States Marine Corps. After his tour, he attended East Tennessee State University and then entered into a successful career in logistics and industrial production management. As David grew as a manager, he was able to master skills including effective communication, problem solving, planning, and customer and peer relations. Those skills led David toward a different path of management into sales. That is where he found his nichehelping people with some of the largest investment decisions of their lifetime. Being a part of a business that helps people achieve their goals and solve unexpected problems to make their dreams come true filled his desire. While pursuing his management career, in the mid 90s, David began fixing up a property and decided to purchase his first home. Thanks to the broker who helped him, David became fascinated with the whole process. He began studying all aspects of real estate as a hobby and completed several more transactions and using the same brokerage firm. Coldwell Banker Security Real Estate is the team that David continued doing business with and, later in life, began his real estate career with as well. This brokerage team was founded in 1983 on the principles of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and friendly business practices. Broker and team leader Jason Johnston has been involved with real estate most of his entire life and is on hand to assist both agents and clients whenever he is needed. Team members Jenny and Pam allow no details to go unnoticed and no deadline missed. Their watchful eye on the details allows the agent to focus on what matters mostyou, the client. David believes that its about the people and you shouldnt just hire an agent, you should hire a team and accept nothing less that excellence. David is a Tri-Cities native. When not involved with clients and customers, he and his wife, along with their daughters, enjoy the great outdoors. You might find David at community events, on the golf course, at the lake or river, at family events, or allowing his daughters to give him a makeover or paint his nails. But dont worry; Davids office phone is always with him. When others ask David how things are going, he replies, Living a dream. And thats exactly how he feels about life in Appalachia and his role to his clients. He believes that when your work is your hobby, life couldnt get any better. Its no wonder that a significant portion of Davids business has always came from repeat customers and referrals.
