Linda Niehuus has been involved in real estate, in some form or fashion, since 1973, during which time she worked as a sales associate in the Memorial area. When her husband was transferred to the United Arab Emirates in 1978, she put her agent skills on hold, but continued to own and manage rental property. When another assignment took Linda and her husband to New Orleans for three years and then to Paris for another 18 months, she couldnt wait to return home to Houston. Ive always considered myself a Texan, so I had to get back here as quickly as I could! Now a long-time resident of Austin County, Linda specializes in country homes, farms, ranches and equestrian facilities. She enjoys listing and showing properties in Brenham, Bellville, Fayetteville, New Ulm and the surrounding areas. Real estate is what I know and love, she says. Its often the most important investment a person makes and can become a wealth-builder, as well as a style of living. In choosing someone to represent youwhether buying or sellingexperience is important. In 2012, Lindas expertise and professional was recognized when she was named the 2012 REALTOR of the Year a prestigious award given to only one REALTOR in the South Central Board of Realtors and was the top producer for the entire company. She has consistently been a top producer since 2011, serving both buyers and sellers in a four-county area. Her dedication to continuing professional development includes receiving these designations: GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) joining other top industry producers in residential real estate who have made the commitment to deliver a superior level of professional service; Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS), further refining her marketing skills to benefit Sellers; Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) which positions her to work as an exclusive Buyer Agent. Recognizing her professionalism and leadership potential, she is also a graduate of the elite Texas Realtors Leadership Program, a seven-month intensive program that focuses on community issues and leadership skills. Its no surprise that Lindas diverse background and international experiences have proven advantageous to her career. Everything I have ever done professionally has involved working with people, often from vastly different backgrounds, to help them define and meet their needs. A few adversities along the way have proved useful, as well. Being a professional woman in a Muslim/Arab country presented many challenges, says Linda, and moving from Paris, France to Nelsonville, Texas was quite a culture shock, says Linda. We had to learn about ranching and raising animals. It was a real learning curve for several years, so I understand others who are in similar situations. Linda and her family owned and operated a 76 acre cow/calf and horse ranch named HayWire Ranch for 19 years, in addition to owning and managing investment properties in Houston, Austin and Bellville. When shes not working, Linda enjoys horses, scuba diving, sailing, and reading. She has three grown children.
