Located south of Indian Gap, TX. Hamilton is 20 mi east and Goldthwaite is 24 mi south. Priddy, TX is about 7 miles west (closest gas station).

Primarily a farming and ranching community. Property is Ag Exempt with some light deed restri ctions. Ask agent for a copy. Indan Gap was a small community in western Hamilton County. Comanche Indians launched raids from this area, hence the name. Settled in 1877. Early settlers opened a post office in their home in 1879. At one point, Indian Gap had a bank, a hotel, 3 stores, a blacksmith shop, a gin, a school, churches and a weekly newspaper, The Arrow. The school closed about 1959, followed by the post office in 1972.
