Rockwall County, located in the great state of Texas, was established on April 1, 1841, as a part of Kaufman County, before becoming a separate county on March 25, 1873. Named for the mysterious underground rock wall discovered there, Rockwall County covers an area of approximately 149 square miles in northeastern Texas.

The region was initially inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Caddo and Cherokee. By the early 19th century, white settlers began to arrive in the area. In the 1850s, the towns of Rockwall and Heath started to develop in the county. The construction of the Texas and Pacific Railway in the 1870s boosted the local economy through agriculture and trade, which remained dominant until the mid-1920s when a more modern economy emerged.

During the 20th century, the Rockwall County population grew steadily as it has continued to be an attractive residential area offering a mix of rural, suburban, and urban lifestyles. The region has become one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States.

A fun fact about Rockwall County is that it is the smallest county in Texas, measuring only around 149 square miles. Despite its small size, it boasts a rich history, natural beauty, and energetic community, making it an appealing place to live and visit.
