Texas Bluebonnet

The Texas Bluebonnet is a beautiful flowering plant native to Texas and is the state flower of Texas. It has light blue petals and a white tip at the end of each petal, giving it its signature bluebonnet look. It is a member of the lupine family and grows to a height of about 1-2 feet. The Texas Bluebonnet blooms in the spring and it is said that an abundance of bluebonnets is a sign of an abundant year. The Texas Bluebonnet was officially adopted as the state flower of Texas in 1901, thanks to the efforts of the Texas Legislature and the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs. The Texas Bluebonnet has become a symbol of Texas pride and is often seen in gardens and on roadsides throughout the state.
