Born and raised on the East Coast in Connecticut, Jay moved to Utah in 1985 to attend college at the University of Utah. After graduation, Jay worked in restaurant management until he found his place in the mortgage lending industry in 1991. Today, Jay is an established and experienced real estate professional serving the greater Park City area. He boasts 19 years of valuable financing experience with Norwest Mortgage and Wells Fargo, plus ten years of hands-on leadership experience as the Owner and Operator of Crescent Mortgage in Park City.
During his time with Norwest and Wells Fargo, Jay was awarded the recognition of the Top 1% Producer for each of his seven consecutive years with them. In 2000, Jay opened Crescent Mortgage and operated that business as Managing Partner for ten years, all while building a strong reputation as one of Park Citys most respected and trusted residential lenders.
Jays previous experience in lending was not limited to individual buyer transactions, but also includes development involvement including many FNMA and FHLMC approvals. During his time in the mortgage industry, Jay worked closely with condominium developments in Pinebrook, NewPark, Deer Valley, Solitude and Sundance.
Working in residential mortgage loans, title, appraisal, insurance and HOA, Jays depth and breadth of local real estate knowledge serves his clients both Buyers and Sellers in any market and transaction. His empirical knowledge of the lending environment, past and present, is an invaluable asset to his clients with or without financing needs.
In 2010, Jay joined his wife, Suzanne, as a licensed REALTOR and they successfully worked together for seven years before Suzanne left the real estate industry to pursue her passion of teaching. Having been a long-time passion, the real estate industry came as an obvious fit and easy career transition for Jay. Since arriving in Park City in 1992, Jay has bought and sold over 50 local properties, managed long and short-term rentals, built numerous luxury homes, and remodeled countless resale homes and condos. Having had a hand in nearly every phase of property ownership, management and construction throughout his Park City tenure, Jay has developed the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to assist clients in the transition in to and out of property ownership in Park City, Utah.
When Jays not busy with the four women in his life his wife Suzanne and their three wonderful daughters, he is an advocate for the Childrens Justice Centers of Summit and Wasatch Counties and an avid supporter of the Mountain Trails Foundation. Jay is also a lover of the great outdoors as a golfer, an avid trail runner, a dedicated fly fisherman and enthusiastic mountain biker.
