The Official Utah State Quarters

Utah State Motto: Industry
Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Utah State Quarter

The Utah state quarter was created in 2007 by artist Stan Watts. It features a seagull in flight over a lake, with a beehive and the state flower, the sego lily, in the foreground. The seagull is a reference to the "Miracle of the Seagulls," a story from the early days of the Mormon pioneers in Utah. The beehive symbolizes industry and hard work, while the sego lily is a symbol of peace and unity. The Utah state motto, "Industry," is written in the sky above the seagull.

The second Utah State Quarter

The Utah National Park Quarter, part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, was released in 2011. The obverse (heads side) of the quarter features a portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States, along with the inscriptions "United States of America," "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and "Quarter Dollar."

The reverse (tails side) of the Utah National Park Quarter depicts Arches National Park, located near Moab, Utah. The image includes the iconic Delicate Arch, as well as a view of the La Sal Mountains in the background. The inscriptions "Arches," "Utah," "E Pluribus Unum," and "2011" also appear on the reverse side of the coin.

The Utah National Park Quarter symbolizes the beauty and majesty of one of America's most iconic and beloved parks. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of conservation and the preservation of our national parks. The Delicate Arch, featured prominently on the coin, has become an international symbol of Utah, and the coin serves as a reminder of the state's rich cultural and natural heritage.
