Thirty years in the business world, primarily in the electric utility business. Most positions were in finance and regulatory areas. Received an MBA from the University of Richmond and a certificate in financial planning from VCU. After retirement from the utility world, I worked for a non-profit credit counseling agency as the Director of Outreach and was a certified credit counselor.
After my wife and I moved to our summer place on the Rappahannock river, where we have a vineyard, perennial nursery and apiary, I taught school (Earth Science) and coached tennis at Rappahannock High School in Warsaw, VA. Needing more flexibility due to the demands of our hobby farm, I left teaching - still coaching tennis - and embarked on a real estate career. I had been licensed for ten years (inactive) and had done little with it, so I reactivated and now work in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck of Virginia.
