Madison County is a picturesque region located in the central part of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Established in 1792, the county was named in honor of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States and one of the country's Founding Fathers. The county is bordered by the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and Rappahannock County to the north.
