Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Virginia State Quarter

The Virginia state quarter was released in 2000, and was designed by William J. Krawczewicz. The design features the three ships used by the English settlers at Jamestown, which was the first permanent English settlement in the New World. The ships are the Susan Constant, the Godspeed, and the Discovery. The words "Jamestown 1607" appear at the top of the coin, and the words "Virginia" appear at the bottom of the coin. The Virginia state motto, "Sic Semper Tyrannis," which translates to "Thus Always To Tyrants," appears along the edge of the coin. The design symbolizes the courage and determination of the settlers who established the first successful English colony in the New World.

The second Virginia State Quarter

The Virginia National Park Quarter is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program from the United States Mint, which honors 56 national sites throughout the United States, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. The Virginia National Park Quarter was released on August 15, 2016, and features the Shenandoah National Park. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States. The reverse of the coin depicts a day hiker taking in the splendor of the Shenandoah National Park, with the Massanutten Mountain in the background.

The Shenandoah National Park was established in 1935 and is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Virginia, along the Appalachian Trail. The park's terrain consists of 200,000 acres of protected forests, streams, and cascading waterfalls. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including black bears, white-tailed deer, and wild turkeys. The park is also known for its magnificent views of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Virginia National Park Quarter is symbolic of the beauty and grandeur of the Shenandoah National Park, as well as the importance of preserving our nation's natural heritage. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of outdoor recreation and the need to protect our environment.
