My family has lived in the Spokane area for generations. My mom was born here in 1914 and my dad was president of Dix Corporation here in Spokane. I grew up in Spokane and graduated from WSU. I then went on to get a Masters Degree in Biology and Education with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology from Gonzaga University. While degrees in anatomy and education may seem odd for a Realtor, that background has served me well. (I get bunged up occasionally playing polo!)

Ive been selling houses and properties since 1989. In 2014 I sold properties totaling $10.1 million, ranking me in the top 20 of Spokane area realtors every year since 1998. I was also ranked in the top 3 Best Realtor listing in the Pacific Northwest Inlander annual readers poll.

In economic times where so many people are hurting financially, I regularly handle the sale or purchase of my clients biggest asset. I take personal responsibility in that. I feel for my sellers in tough situations and realize the importance my expertise brings to their lives. A wellhandled real estate transaction can be a win-win for both the seller and the buyer. Consider choosing a Realtor because they are a pro with a successful track record. Do not turn over your largest asset to your familys friend. Would you do this with your entire stock portfolio?

I am passionate about my service to the community and beyond. I have been appointed to the Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy in Washington State (www.nature.org), am a sponsor of the Cobra Polo Classic Benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities Spokane (rmhspokane.org), and a board member of the Dishman Hills Conservancy (www.dishmanhills.org). The DHC is a conservation minded organization working with neighbors and landowners and is committed to the management and stewardship of this unique area. We are in the process of trying to link Spokane County Park land, Department of Natural Resource land and the Dishman Hills Natural Area to provide a close-in place for recreation, education and wildlife corridors. I am also a board member of Carl Wilkens World Outside My Shoes an organization whose goal is to inspire and equip people to stand up against genocide, racism and intolerance (www.worldoutsidemyshoes.org). In the past I have been involved with the Ronald McDonald House as a board member, WSU Foundation for Planned Giving, Meals on Wheels, past vice president of The Morning Star Boys Ranch Foundation, am past president of the Spokane Polo Club, and board member of Spokanimal animal rescue.

Many of my clients get involved with me in these organizations. Maybe its my passion rubbing off on them, or maybe I am just a tough person to say no to. Either way, these wonderful organizations benefit from their involvement.

When I am not showing houses and property, I am running my working farm with 30 horses (polo, roping and breeding stock), or playing polo. Ive played internationally in Ambassadors Cup matches (invitation only and often as the only woman competing) and in womens tournaments in England, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Africa. No matter where I go on these quick trips, I am in touch with my clients by phone on a daily basis. Polo is a great sport, and I have leveraged that interest into initiating and serving on the organizing committee for the annual Cobra Roofing Polo Classic that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Ronald McDonald House.

I've got two great kidsboth graduates of Washington State University (located just 80 miles south of Spokane, in Pullman). Catlin now owns the Catlin Dix Horse and Cattle Company, where she breeds and raises horses and cattle, after serving as the head of the Equine Therapy Program at the Morningstar Boys Ranch in Spokane. Cody has a degree in ag economics and is working on his fathers cattle ranch southwest of Spokane. He was featured on the cover of the Inlander as "The Last of the Cowboys". Both of my kids were on the WSU Rodeo Team, were members of the Spokane Ski Racing Association and are members of the Spokane Polo Club.

My four big interests are my family, farm, horses, and land. Real estate is not just my career; its also something I invest in myself. I am a true believer in what I do, and I think that after working with me, you will be too.
